Domain knowledge for FMP financial statements, metrics, ratios

FMP Financial Statements

Income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, key metrics, ratios. Period: annual or quarter.

Data Model

  • Statements — income, balance sheet, cash flow. period=annual|quarter.
  • TTM — trailing twelve months.
  • Metrics — PE, ROE, revenue growth.
  • Ratios — financial ratios.
  • Growth — statement growth.
  • As-reported — GAAP vs non-GAAP.

Gotchas

  • period param: Always specify period=annual or period=quarter. Default may vary.
  • Limit: Statements return multiple periods; use limit to cap (e.g. last 5 years).
  • TTM vs quarterly: TTM is rolling; quarterly is single quarter. Use TTM for current-year metrics.
  • Segment data: Product and geographic segmentation for breakdowns.
